Negley man due in court for traffic death of teen

LISBON, Ohio - A Negley man is scheduled to appear in court Thursday to answer charges filed in connection with the death of a fifteen-year-old girl who was a passenger in a car that crashed in February.
Corey Evans, 19, was secretly indicted on felony charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, as well as misdemeanor counts of operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances and alcohol.
Troopers say that neither 18-year-old Corey Evans, nor his 15-year-old Angie Perkins was wearing a seat belt when the Chevy Cavalier being driven by Evans went off State Route 154 just west of Negley, striking a guardrail, a ditch, an embankment, and utility pole before overturning.
Evans suffered minor injuries according to troopers. Perkins was thrown from the car and died.
Bond for Evans is set at $50,000.
