MCDONALD, Ohio - McDonald's first-ever fire engine will be featured in the Village's Octoberfest parade.

The fire department shared on their Facebook page a video of the historic fire truck warming up for the big event.

Fire Chief Timothy Grantz says the oldest living retired firefighter, 95 year-old Jack Evans, will ride in the truck. Evans served as a firefighter for 25 years.

In May, 21 News reported that the more than 100-year-old fire truck had been restored.

Larry Marano had put close to 1,300 hours into working on the fire truck which he said was in pretty rough shape. It had been sitting in a garage for the Water Department and former Fire Chief Todd Stitt asked him if he would fix it up.

Marano told 21 News that he’d done every piece from the wheels to the seats to all the brass. He said it was a project he was more than happy to complete.

The truck is a 1917 Ford Model T and was donated by Carnegie Steel back in 1920.

The truck now stays at the McDonald Fire Department and is used for special events throughout the Valley, like this weekend's Octoberfest.

The Octoberfest is Saturday, October 16th. The parade begins at 10:30. Following the parade there will be craft shows, bounce houses, a beer tent and bands throughout the day.
