Mahoning County Public Health to host Pfizer booster clinic Friday

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Mahoning County Public Health has announced on Wednesday that it will be hosting a Pfizer booster clinic at the Austintown Senior Center (112, Westchester Dr. Austintown) on Friday, Oct. 22.
The clinic will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will be closed for a meal break between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. The clinic is for qualifying individuals 18 and over who have completed their primary series of the Pfizer vaccine at least six months ago.
The booster clinics are by appointment only and based on a limited number of appointments each Friday. Appointments for the Oct. 22 clinic can be made here until Thursday at noon. All appointments made after this time will be made for the following Friday's clinic.
The following Ohioans qualify to receive a booster dose:
-People 65 and over or residents in long-term care settings
-People aged between 50 through 64 with certain underlying medical conditions
-People aged 18 and over who are at high risk for COVID due to underlying medical conditions
-People aged 18 and over who are at an increased risk for COVID exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional settings.
Eligible booster recipients will be asked to attest that they have at least one of the qualifying conditions, but proof will not be required. Recipients are asked to bring a valid photo ID along with their vaccination card.
Those who received Moderna or Johnson & Johnson as their primary vaccine are not eligible for a Pfizer booster.
