The fiancée of a Trumbull County Sheriff's deputy who passed away earlier this year has started serving a jail sentence for changing the beneficiary information on the late deputy's retirement account three days after his death.

Stephanie Bock, 52, was sentenced this week to 120 days in jail after pleading guilty earlier to attempted theft, tampering with records, forgery, and unauthorized use of property.

Bock, who has since moved to Port Lucie, Florida, will also be placed on probation.

Indicted by a Trumbull County Grand Jury last March, court records say Bock "devised a scheme to defraud or obtain property or services" of $150,000 or more.

The alleged crime happened on February 19, 2021, three days after the death of her fiancée, Deputy Anthony Diehl, Sr.

The indictment also explained Bock allegedly did "falsify, destroy, remove, conceal, alter, deface or mutilate" evidence of data or records that is "kept by or belongs to a local, state or federal government entity."

The allegation is that Bock accessed her late fiancée’s retirement account and changed the beneficiary information.
