Ohio - The CDC warned on Tuesday to not consume any unlabeled onions imported from Mexico and distributed across the U.S. by ProSource Inc. due to a Salmonella outbreak.
37 states were affected by this outbreak including Ohio. According to reports from the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), there have been seven cases of onion-related Salmonella in Ohio with two hospitalizations and zero deaths.
ODH says they cannot release a further breakdown at this time due to such information possibly leading to the release of personally-identifiable protected health information (PHI) which is prohibited.
The CDC warns anyone with anyone has any unlabeled fresh whole red, white or yellow onions at home to throw them away and not to eat them.
