Milton Township has voted to award $120,000 to their volunteer fire department in an effort to increase staff and response.

The money comes from two mills that got "Yes" votes on Tuesday. A mill levy is a tax rate applied to property value. One mill is equal to $1 per $1,000 of assessed property value. It is used to help publicly funded services and organizations.
