WARREN TWP., Ohio - After three weeks on the picket lines, the union strike at Stericycle has ended.

Union members of the Warren based medical waste facility went on strike three weeks ago, upset over unfair labor practices and wages.

A contract was negotiated Friday and voted on Saturday, and was ultimately approved by the union.

The union claimed that they have been working without a contract since 2020, and attempts to renegotiate were unsuccessful prior to the strike.

Teamsters Local #377 Vice President Ken Sabo told 21 News it was a long three weeks, but he is glad to see a new contract.

About 50 workers represented by the union will return to work on Sunday.
