While the weather outside is not so frightful, tree farms in the valley are open and ready for the Christmas season.

Mike Pieton and his family own the tree farm 7P in Trumbull County. After record sales last year, this one is not off to a hot start.

"We did have to raise our prices by five dollars, which we haven't had to do in ten years or so," said Pieton.

The slight price increase has been seen across many Valley tree farms. Several said price hikes range from $3-$5 dollars.

Many larger tree farms like Pioneer Trails and Storey Tree Christmas Farm report having lower staffing levels this season, meaning an influx of customers over Thanksgiving or the possibility of panic buying will overwhelm their businesses.
