COLUMBUS, Ohio - Five-thousand Ohioans previously denied Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) may be eligible for redetermination.
In February the Department of Labor expanded eligibility for PUA and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) is now able contact and process applications for those who were denied under the old eligibility requirement.
ODJFS is contacting around 5,000 people who may be eligible under the new requirements but were denied before the February 5 change. Once the paperwork is sent to those PUA accounts, those contacted will have five days to complete their new application.
It may take up to a week for the worksheets to reach those being contacted.
