YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The City of Youngstown has updated the memo to its vaccine mandate for all city employees.
The city has set a goal to get 75% of Youngstown city workers vaccinated by Jan. 4, 2022.
Youngstown Mayor, Jamael Tito Brown says if 75% of workers are vaccinated by this date, he will cancel the vaccine mandate for city employees.
However, if city workers do not achieve a 75% vaccination rate by the deadline, the policy will go into effect as originally planned.
If the mandate goes into effect, city employees will be required to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or to undergo bi-weekly testing at no cost to the employee.
