Passenger in Pine Twp. plane crash dies, FAA says plane lost oil pressure before crashing

PINE TWP., Mercer Co., Pa. - The passenger involved in a plane crash in Mercer County has passed away.
55-year-old Keith Vanover of Parma passed away Saturday morning at 9:17 a.m. at a hospital in Pittsburgh.
Vanover died from thermal burns and inhalation injuries suffered in the plane crash that happened in Pine Township on Wednesday, November 24.
The crash also claimed the life of 65-year-old Richard Briggs of Cuyahoga Falls.
Mercer County Coroner John Libonati told 21 News that Briggs was attempting to land safely before the accident.
The FAA was on scene investigating the crash Friday.
Their preliminary report says the aircraft lost oil pressure before crashing into a landfill.
