YPD investigating after SUV flips through several yards
Youngstown Police are investigating after an SUV flipped off of a road and was abandoned Saturday morning.
Officers responded to West Dewey Avenue before 8:30 a.m. where they discovered the rolled over vehicle with no passengers around. The road is closed Saturday morning.
Witnesses told police that multiple people got out of the vehicle before getting into another one and driving away. First responders believe the SUV collided with two parked vehicles and telephone poles on the street before flipping several times.
A neighbor told 21 News that they heard a "big boom" around 8:30 a.m. before seeing a man laying on the ground. The neighbor saw that the man was disoriented and that a woman was unconscious. The woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries.
The same neighbor said that multiple accidents have happened this street, but this is the worst one yet.
"It's one of those incidents where you pull up and no one is here," said a Youngstown Police Officer.
It is unknown if the power on the street is out, there are several lines down and poles split on the sidewalk.
The damage from the accident stretched nearly seven properties long.
