COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State highway patrol launched a newly redesigned recruitment website on Wednesday with the initiative of making their page more user-friendly and interactive.

The OSHP said that the more modern design is also an effort to recruit and inform future applicants between ages 18 and 34 to the patrol.

The interactive parts of the site feature a photo platform and video examples across the site, including on the careers, academy, frequently asked questions, contact and apply pages.

"We are excited to launch this innovative recruitment tool in efforts to reach those who are interested in a career to serve," said Lieutenant Levente Berry, Recruitment Commander. "Applicants will benefit from geographical information and get to know why being a trooper is life-changing."

Governor Mike DeWine, who has made a number of police related policies and announcements in recent weeks, praised the OHSP's site development.

"This new website is a great recruitment tool for those considering the distinguished profession of an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper," said Governor DeWine. "This website gives prospective cadets a first-hand look at what it means to be a trooper and outlines the steps to take to get there."

OSHP's new website also aims to introduce applicants to the recruiter in their region of Ohio.
