East Liverpool resident given community control after guilty plea to gross sexual imposition
A 22-year old East Liverpool resident was sentenced on Thursday after pleading guilty to a third-degree felony of gross sexual imposition charges in a Columbiana Common Pleas Court earlier this year.
Andrew Carman, previously known as Heather Ann Carman, was given five years of community control and must register as a tier II sex offender. That ruling means Carman will have to register as a sex offender every six months for the next 25 years.
Additionally, Carman was ordered to comply with random drug tests. The sentence ordered that Carman will not be permitted to leave the state of Ohio without getting permission from a court first, and they were also ordered to attend counseling.
Carman was originally charged with a first-degree felony rape for sexual abuse allegations against a minor beginning in 2006. The charge was dropped to to third-degree when the timeline of events was narrowed to have occurred from 2016 to 2017.
