The Youngstown State Women's basketball team dropped to 8-1 on the season after falling in State College to Penn State by a final of 78-58 on Sunday afternoon.

YSU cut the Penn State lead to eight points, 44-36 after a Jen Wendler layup in the third quarter, but the Lady Lions went on a 34-22 run to close out the game and win.
Youngstown State had five players score at least eight points, as Paige Shy and Lilly Ritz scored eight while Olson, Malia Magestro and Lindsey Mack each scored nine.
The Penguins return to action Friday, Dec. 17 at home against Davis & Elkins, for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off from Beeghly Center.
