The Procter & Gamble Company issued a voluntary recall on a number of aerosol dry conditioner and dry shampoo products.

Pantene, Aussie, Herbal Essences and Waterless produced in the U.S. are included. Discontinued aerosol dry shampoo products from Old Spice and Hair Food are also included.

According to the release, the recall is due to the presence of benzene detected in some products.

Benzene is classified as a human carcinogen, meaning that exposure to it can result in cancers including leukemia and blood cancer of the bone marrow.

The recall alert says the daily exposure to benzene in the recalled products would not be expected to cause adverse health consequences.

Procter & Gamble has not received any reports of adverse events related to the products.

Below is a list of the recalled products:

The products were distributed nationwide in the U.S. through retail outlets and online. If you have one of the recalled products, stop using it and throw it away.
