Warren City Council expected to pass budget for 2022

WARREN, Ohio - Warren City Council expects to pass the town's budget for 2022 with flying colors.
City Councilman and Finance Chair John Brown Jr. said that he believes the council will overwhelmingly vote to approve the financial legislation. The city council has held a number of budget meetings in the past few weeks.
Brown said that members representing different offices throughout the city, like the police department, have have attended meetings to ask questions about their part in the budget. Brown thinks that level of attention will help everyone in Warren have their voices expressed in the finance sector during the new year.
"The taxpayer will be well represented in the budget," said Brown. "Things look bright, there are no secrets and we plan to pass a well-balanced budget on-time."
Brown said that this is the earliest the city has had a budget written up. A lot of the money comes from the $14 million that Warren received in ARP funds. That has allowed for numerous projects to get more attention than usual on this years budget.
Warren will get another $14 million in ARP funds next year.
The committee is slated to vote on the budget on Wednesday.
