Youngstown man pleads guilty to making teen commit sex act with infant

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Youngstown man pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to sexual exploitation of a child.
26-year-old Andrew Strickland was accused of making a 16-year-old commit a sex act on an infant sibling.
Strickland was accused of having a relationship with a 16-year-old boy that he said he met on Facebook.
An affidavit from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio said Strickland sent the teen nude photos and threatened the minor child to perform oral sex on a horse or an infant child in the teen's family. The 16-year old performed the sex act on the infant child, believing that Strickland would harm him or his family if he didn't, officials say.
Authorities said the sexual contact between the two minors was recorded and appeared to have taken place within a camper at the Clark County Fairgrounds.
The affidavit said Strickland could not believe how far he had gotten with the teenager.
The incident came to light in July 2019 after a man from Farmdale contacted the Trumbull County Sheriff's Office to report the sexual assault of the infant. The man making the report told detectives that the sexual assault was committed by a 16-year-old relative.
Authorities say the video depicting the incident was sent to the victims' family on Facebook by a user named Andrew Strickland of Youngstown and police were at his home shortly after.
Federal authorities said they considered the 16-year-old as a victim as well because he felt threatened by Strickland.
Strickland's sentencing is scheduled for April 12 at 11 a.m.
