Warren man accused of raping teen girl repeatedly over 9-month period
A Warren man is facing charges after allegedly raping a 13-year-old female from Hubbard multiple times over a nine-month period.
According to the report, the victim told a family member that 41-year-old Francis Lacamera had raped her multiple times.
Reports say the sexual assaults started after the victim and Lacamera were watching a movie in a bedroom. During that time, Lacamera allegedly touched the girl inappropriately over her clothes. The victim said Lacamera told her that it was her fault that the incident happened and that her mother would be extremely mad at her.
Police say Lacamera told the victim that she needed to keep the incident a secret.
According to the report, the victim told a family member that shortly after the first incident, Lacamera held her down and penetrated her.
Reports say the victim was raped multiple times after that. The victim's family member told police that she was unaware of the incidents.
Police say the victim's mother spoke with Lacamera's ex, who said this isn't the first time that he had sexually assaulted someone.
Lacamera was arrested Wednesday afternoon and is being held in the Trumbull County Jail. He is facing nine counts of rape and one count of gross sexual imposition.
Assistant Prosecutor Gabe Wildman said they had a goal to bring in Lacamera before Christmas.
"We thought it was important to have him in custody before Christmas and we wanted to ruin his Christmas," Wildman said.
Lacamera could face life in prison if convicted. His arraignment is scheduled for Monday morning.
