A local pharmacy founder was honored on Christmas Eve as he turns 90 years old this year.

Rocco Fumi of Canfield is the founder of local pharmacy, Buckeye Drugs and a member of community charities and his church.

Canfield Mayor, Richard Duffett presented Fumi with a proclamation declaring December 24 as "Rocco Fumi Day." Mayor Duffett described the lengths Fumi would go to in order to serve his community.

"He would be open late hours or even during a snow storm if people needed medicine. When you talk about the neighborhood pharmacy, that was what Mr. Fumi was to Canfield," Duffett said.

Fumi is a graduate of the Ohio State University, and within 50 years of being an Ohio State football fan, he's only ever missed two games.
