OIL CITY, Pa. - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has restored the speed limit on several interstates in the Northwest region.

Earlier Tuesday Evening, PennDOT had announced that speed limits on certain interstates were reduced to 45 miles per hour due to winter weather concerns.

While speed limits have been restored and crews have been treating roadways PennDOT still urges motorists to drive with caution during winter weather conditions, noting that some roadways may not be completely free of ice and snow during the event of a winter storm.

The following interstates were affected:

-I-79

-I-80

-I-86

-I-90

PennDOT crews will continue to treat roadways throughout the storm until precipitation stops and roads are clear.
