TRUMBULL COUNTY, OH - Mahoning County residents have likely seen or even waited in the long lines for free at-home COVID-19 test kits at venues like the Covelli Centre, the Canfield Fairgrounds or various Public Library locations.

However, residents of Trumbull County haven't been seeing these large-scale giveaways at all. The reason? A lack of supplies.

Trumbull County health officials tell 21 News that they've only been able to get a few hundred at-home rapid test kits at a time.

That's not nearly enough for a large-scale giveaway event, as Mahoning County's events have given away thousands of free at-home tests at a time.

Trumbull health officials went on to say that they are not actively seeking out these kits and just wait for whatever the state provides them with.

The county's library director recently reached out to the state for 3,000 test kits, but was only given about 650.

Trumbull County residents who are looking to get tested for COVID-19 can schedule one for free at just about any local pharmacy.

In some cases, rapid tests may be available in which residents can get their results within two hours.
