Youngstown man sentenced to 77 years in prison for raping minors

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Youngstown man has been sentenced to 77 years in prison following his conviction of more than 70 sex charges involving minors.
Dustin Ruiter, 46, was found guilty in October on a total of 73 counts, 32 of which are felony rape.
According to a secret indictment, the sexual assaults involve three different victims ages 16, 15, and 14 and occurred from November 2018 until June 2019.
Those victims spoke out in court today. One of them found a way to forgive him, while others wished for him to reap what he has sown.
"Everything that you have done has led up to you being in this courtroom. You have no idea the kind of chaos you have caused. I want you to know that I forgive you, not because it's OK, but because I need peace," one victim said.
"I hope that you get every traumatic and damaging thing you made us endure. I want you to live in fear because it's something that children should never have to live through," another victim said.
Ruiter was declared a Tier 3 sex offender and must re-register every 90 days for the rest of his life.
