Seismologists are reporting a second earthquake in as many days centered under Lake Erie, off the shore of Lake County, Ohio

According to the U.S. Geological Service, a 1.9 magnitude was recorded just before 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, about three and a half miles north of the community of Timberlake in Lake County.

The tremor came less than 24 hours after a 2.7 magnitude tremor was recorded shortly before 8:30 a.m. Tuesday about one-and-a-half miles northwest of the community of Eastlake.

Unlike Tuesday when Eastlake Police told 21 News they had received several calls from people who felt the quake, as of 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, dispatchers had not received any reports from residents.

According to the USGS earthquakes with magnitudes between 1 and 3 are not felt, except by very few people under especially favorable conditions.
