Vinny Gentile has decided to stop playing football and concentrate on medical school.

In a tweet Gentile thanked former coach Bo Pelini and Doug Phillips for "allowing me to fulfill my dream."

He also thanked his position coach Kenny McLendon, who has since moved onto Connecticut.

Gentile, a defensive lineman  played in 20 games with the Penguins and was credited with 20 tackles and two sacks in his career.
