State Police in Mercer County say they’ve been investigating a case that resembles the story of the Grinch Who Stole Christmas.

EAST LACKAWANNOCK TOWNSHIP. Pa. - State Police in Mercer County say they’ve been investigating a case that resembles the story of the Grinch Who Stole Christmas.

According to a report released on Monday, a 59-year-old East Lackawannock Township woman told officers that someone cut down a pine tree from the front yard of her Stone Base Road Home eight days before Christmas.

The woman didn’t see who committed the crime.

She estimates the value of the tree at $50.
