AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - An Austintown woman that has been living in a garage is being told to report to the Mahoning County Jail.

Pamela Grate was found to be in noncompliance and will have to serve a 10-day sentence.

Grate pleaded guilty in December to a zoning violation that was filed due to her living in a Crum Road garage.

The Austintown Zoning Department investigated the garage in February and found propane heaters being used.

The court gave her a suspended sentence given the condition that she disconnected the generator within three days of that hearing.

During Monday's compliance hearing, evidence was presented and the court found that she failed to comply and continued to use the generator.

Grate was not taken into custody following the hearing.

Court records say Grate will begin her jail sentence on January 31.
