YOUNGSTOWN - Overnight snowfall gave Youngstown residents a chance to try out an interactive snow plow GPS tracking website newly instituted this winter.

The Youngstown Street Department sent out trucks to deal with snow that fell on city streets overnight, according to the website that tracks plows and salt trucks.

The website, which went online this winter, showed trucks on all sides of town as of 5:30 a.m.

The interactive map allows users to click on truck icons to display the truck numbers at their location, which is not in real-time.  There is a 30-minute delay to ensure driver safety.

The legend on the map also displays where the trucks have been and how many hours ago.

Users may ender their address to zoom in on the streets in their neighborhood.

Another tab displays priority levels on local streets. A higher priority road will be plowed sooner and more often than those of a lower priority.

Crews cross-check their routes and know which areas have and haven't been cleared. But you can still call the city at 330-744-3179 and let them know if your street needs to be done.
