Hospital visitors, bar patron, latest victims of Warren converter thefts

WARREN, Ohio - It seems no one is immune from the recent increase in catalytic convert thefts from vehicles in Warren.
Police took three more reports Tuesday from victims who say someone took the exhaust devices from a business, a bar parking lot, and even a hospital.
A couple that had been visiting Trumbull Regional Medical Center said they came out of the hospital and heard a loud noise.
It turns out someone had cut the converter from the car owned by an 81-year-old relative.
Police say they’ll review hospital security video.
That same day, a 26-year-old woman told police someone stole the converter from her Buick while she was inside the Horseshoe bar on East Market Street.
The third case of stolen converters came from a man who said he parked his Ford F350 at a business on Elm Road over the weekend only to discover that both converters had been removed.
Police say surveillance video shows two men crawl beneath the truck with a battery-powered saw.
The video shows sparks flying from beneath the truck as the converters were being cut off.
The men then walked away with the stolen converters. Police say the theft only took two minutes.
