Warren Council member calls meeting on snow removal problems

WARREN, Ohio - One of Warren’s newest city council members wants to find out if there’s a better way to clear the roads when we experience snowfall like the Valley did on Monday.
Fifth Ward Council Member Ashley Miner, who is also Chairwoman of the Operations Committee, has called the Mayor, Operations Superintendent, and other council members to a meeting to discuss snow removal from city streets.
Miner tells 21 News that she believes a better job could have been done to make roads passable following the wintery blast two days ago. She said she counted seven side streets in her ward that were not cleared until Wednesday morning.
Saying that the road department has some veteran plow drivers, Miner wonders if there are some inexperienced plow truck drivers on the road.
The councilwoman, who took office this year, hopes to find out if the problem was caused by the number of trucks, training, or some other issue.
The meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m., Thursday, January 20, 2022, in City Council Chambers.
