1/7
BROOKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A Brookfield resident was among the winners of a contest held by the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission, in which Ohioans were tasked with coming up with the most creative names for the Commission's snow plows.
From October to November of 2021, Ohioans submitted creative names to the Commission with the hopes that their name will be selected for one of Ohio's snow plows. Nearly 1,000 entries were received.
Starting in late November, the top 50 names were put into a poll where people could vote on the Commission's website. Nearly 4,000 votes were counted during the voting period.
Brookfield's very own Cori DeRenzis was among the winners with the name "Ah Push It... Push It Real Good." A reference to the 1986 hit song, "Push It" by hip hop group Salt-N-Pepa.
Seven other winners throughout Ohio will also see their suggested names on snow plows. The other winning names are:
-"Darth Blader"
-"O-H Snow U Didn't"
-"Snow More Mr. Ice Guy"
-"Snowbi-Wan Kenobi
-"Snow Force One"
-"Plowy McPlowface
-"Sir Plows-A-Lot"
All winners received a $100 gift card.
If your name wasn't selected or you didn't get a chance to participate in this contest, the commission plans to rerun the contest for a second year in October of 2022.
