YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - As temperatures in the Mahoning Valley drop below zero, the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley continues to see a steady increase in capacity due to the cold.

However, there is still plenty of space for those who need them with 123 out of 188 beds still available as of this report.

If the Mission does wind up reaching capacity, Rescue Mission Chief Development Officer, Lynn Wyant tells us they can still house people in their emergency shelters.

"This is nothing new to the Rescue Mission. We're here to be the safety net for the Valley for those that don't have any place else to go, and we're really, really thankful for this building now that has a capacity to shelter 188 people," Wyant said.

Currently, the Rescue Mission has about 65 spaces left.
