Catholic Diocese of Youngstown collecting donations to help families in need with winter utilities

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Catholic Diocese of Youngstown is asking church members to help support families in need during the winter months.
Catholic Charities is sponsoring the annual "Warm Hearts for Warm Homes" campaign between January 22nd and 30th.
The program raises funds to help families with children, working poor adults and older adults on fixed incomes with utility assistance during the cold winter months.
The assistance is important for people in the area the Diocese of Youngstown serves as more than 175,000 people are living in poverty in the six counties.
Since the program began in 2008, more than $469,000 has been raised to help more than 60,000 people in the area.
Donations can be made to the Warm Hearts for Warm Homes campaign online and through the mail.
