YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Butler Institute of American Art has now become an accessible location for the Aira app.

The app is a visual interpreting service that gives live, on-demand access to visual information like artwork.

If you're at the Bulter Institue of Art, you can call an agent on your cell phone and what your phone camera sees, the agent sees. It's very similar to Facetime, but the agent is describing the artwork in great detail.

They believe this will help people with visual impairments better enjoy the Butler and all the artwork it has to offer.

THE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE BULTER AND AIRA IS SUCH A REVOLUTIONARY BECAUSE IT LEVERAGES THE POWER OF TECHNOLOGY AND THE ARTS FOR EVERYONE TO EXPERIENCE THE VISUAL WORLD," Butler Art institute specialist Joe Mistovich said.

Aria isn't just for art. It has been accepted by many other businesses in the fields of retail, dining, banking, travel and many others.

mistovich is now working on trying to get YSU to be an Aira-accessible location along with the Butler.
