Fundraiser to help Sharon mother after tragic accident postponed due to inclement weather

Mahoning Valley - A fundraiser to support a mother of three from Sharon has been postponed due to Thursday's inclement weather.
The benefit for 33-year-old Stephanie Tubb was to be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Locke Organization and Mahoning Valley McDonald's locations.
The fundraiser is being moved to February 10 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. 20% of sales from that four-hour period will go to the Tubb family.
Funds raised will be used to help Stephanie Tubb, who sustained life-altering injuries after being hit by a garbage truck while walking to work at McDonald's.
"What a lot of folks don't understand is that the McDonald's in your area is probably locally owned and operated by franchises like me," explained Trey Locke, McDonald's franchise owner. "We're able to get to know our people and make connections with our people and it allows us to make person decisions rather than business decisions."
Tubb was walking to work in Sharon near East State Street and North Oakland Avenue when she was struck by the truck.
She had a portion of both legs amputated. Her right leg was amputated above the knee and her left leg was amputated below the knee. She also suffered a collapsed lung, broken ribs and severe cuts to her face.
Tubb told 21 News about how much she loves her McDonald's family and the entire community for their support.
"We were heartbroken at what her and her family are going to have to endure," Locke told 21 News. "We wanted to be a blessing during that time so we honestly made a pretty easy decision to do what we could to help her out and help her family out and support them."
Most McDonald's locations that the Locke family does not own are still participating in the fundraiser.
While the fundraiser to help her has been delayed, a GoFundMe has been set up and t-shirts and hoodies are being sold to help the family.
As of Thursday evening, Tubb's GoFundMe sits at over $73,000.
"She's using this opportunity to want to inspire others and it shows her tenacity, her grit and her willingness to fight through," Locke said.
