Here's why you may have a longer wait time for a tow truck

Mahoning Valley - With the Valley getting hit with winter weather conditions your car may get stuck in the snow, and you may have to call a tow truck to pull you out.
However, the wait times could be longer than expected. Crump's Towing owner, Tom Crump went into why.
Crump tells 21 News that he's been hit with calls left and right about cars getting stuck in the street asking for a tow truck. However, Crump says that if one car gets stuck, so will another.
Crump tells us that the biggest reason for the long wait times is tow trucks getting stuck in the snow along with the car, resulting in a second truck needing to be sent out to assist the first truck along with the customer.
Additionally, due to the fact that two trucks would have to respond to one call, there are less men available than usual for subsequent calls, which Crump described as "two people doing one person's job."
Crump tells us that if a road has not been plowed, he will not send a truck to the location to avoid other trucks getting stuck along with the call.
He suggests that if your road has not been plowed, instead of calling a tow truck, keep a shovel or any other digging tool on hand in order to dig up the snow and get the car out that way.
Crump also echoed suggestions from the Ohio and Pennsylvania Departments of Transportation stating that if you do not need to travel, stay home and if you do need to travel, plan ahead.
Crump's Towing services start at $80.
