We're one week into Black History Month and as part of the celebration, we're spotlighting a few Black owned businesses in the Valley.

Jewels N' More 2.0 in Youngstown has been around for 5 years, selling a variety of dazzling items from necklaces to unique custom pieces.

Although owning and maintaining a business can be rewarding, business owners tell 21 News it's not quite without some difficulty.

"We all face challenges. I think mine was growing. We was growing fast," said Antwan Milender, owner of Jewels N' More 2.0. "I was open prior doing jewelry prior to me having my own shop so when I got into it, it was just growing fast, so I think that was one of my challenges just trying to contain that," he said.

Milender isn't the only one who faced a challenge or two, the same goes for Stacey Grant, owner of Dvyne Beauty Supply and Salon in Youngstown.

"The biggest part for me right now is like gettng traffic," said Grant. "People, you know they come in, oh my gosh, so nice or whatever but they don't come back because if you go to the Walmart or the beauty supply, you have one stop shops," she said.

Grant doesn't only sell her own products in the store, but also products from other Black owned businesses.

Grant tells 21 News she feels it's very important for Black business owners to support each other.

"People look down on us as a culture, and you know, we have to learn how to stick together and promote each other," Grant said.
