Hubbard murder suspect to undergo competency exam

HUBBARD TWP., Ohio - A motion to determine whether a Youngstown man is competent to stand trial for murder was filed Wednesday, February 9.
Devonte Douglas, 25, is charged in the shooting death of Adreionna Hasley-Crockett in December 2021.
Douglas plead not guilty by reason of insanity during a hearing on Wednesday.
Dispatchers received a call that a woman had been found shot in a car parked at a gas well site off Seifert Lewis Road.
According to dispatch logs, a woman called 911 saying her friend had been shot and that she didn't think she was breathing.
The caller told dispatchers she had been kidnapped by a male and was taken to an address on Dogwood Lane in Youngstown but was able to get to her car and drive back to the scene of the shooting, where she called 911.
Douglas was arrested in Youngstown when he showed up at police headquarters attempting to release a vehicle from an impound lot.
