The South Range community got to celebrate a State Championship trophy with the 2022 Raiders, who captured the crown on Saturday. 

Sunday afternoon, the champs returned from Versailles High School with the trophy in hand, and the celebration was on. Fans and family lined South Range High School as the team bus, escorted by ambulance, pulled in. 

The Raiders stepped off and hoisted the trophy, resulting an wide-spread cheering from those in attendance. 

It's the first ever State Duals Championship in South Range history and the celebration didn't disappoint. 

South Range, which owned the bracket's top seed, defeated Liberty Center in the quarterfinal round 47-18 on Saturday. 

They followed that up with a 36-28 win over Barnesville in the semi-final before defeating the No. 2 seeded Milan Edison 38-36 for the State Championship. 

South Range's Christopher Colucci pinned Edison's Jacob Thompson in the 215 pound weight class to secure the State Championship.
