The Greater Mercer County Association of Realtors' is expecting the same "Hot Market," for 2022 as last year.

"We are in a sellers market right now and this is probably across the globe honestly," said Fontineese Green, Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Realtor and President of the Greater Mercer County Association of Realtors. "In real estate, we have a lot of buyers, a sea of buyers and we don't have enough inventory to sell them," she said.

Green says, there's no need for buyers to worry, however, because it's all about having knowledge of the market. Green also has tips on what to do when trying to get your offer accepted.

"Come in with your best foot forward, know your finances, know what you're able to do as far as an offer, have your down payment ready, have your pre-approval ready and just go in, strong," Green said.

While the market is booming, Green tells 21 News she wants to create opportunity for more diversity in the field, by educating people of color about the business.
"I am the first person of color to hold the office of presidency in the mercer county association of realtors," said Green.

Green is also one of three Black realtors in the entire county. She says there's a level of comfort for buyers when they see people in real estate who look like them, so she's hoping to start her intiative for change with a school career day.

What our goal is this year is to speak with superintendents in schools to try and at least get into the school and have a career day," said Green. "I think if we had an opportunity to bring it to young adults, then they could see what a wonderful career that it could be," she said.
