Ohio Democratic Party endorses Tim Ryan for U.S. Senate

Ohio & Mahoning Valley - The Ohio Democratic Party has announced their endorsement of Representative Tim Ryan for U.S. Senate.
The announcement came during a Zoom meeting with members of the Ohio Democratic Party's Executive Committee.
Ryan earned 85 votes in support of his endorsement, as opposed to his competitor Morgan Harper, who earned 9 votes in support of endorsement.
The party also voted to endorse candidates running in several other races, including the Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice and two other Ohio Supreme Court seats.
In a statement the Ohio Democratic Party wrote, "Ohio Democrats are proud to endorse Rep. Tim Ryan, Justice Jennifer Brunner, and Judges Marilyn Zayas and Terri Jamison, and we're excited about the strong candidates we have running. We're confident we have a strong, diverse ticket coming out of the primary elections that will show voters we're on their side and lead us to victory in November."
ODP did not endorse a candidate for Ohio Governor, at the request of Mayor John Cranley and Mayor Nan Whaley.
"We’re confident that our eventual nominee will provide Ohio voters a much better alternative to the failed leadership and corruption coming out of Mike DeWine’s statehouse,” said ODH Chair Elizabeth Walters.
The ODH Executive Committee will hold another meeting in March to discuss endorsements for other statewide races.
