KINSMAN, Ohio - A gas line break in Kinsman is causing many area residents to be without heat throughout the day on Friday.

A Facebook post from the Kinsman Township Police Department states that the gas line that feeds the back side of the Lakelands washed out and broke.

According to a representative from Eastern Natural Gas Co. in Kinsman, the pipeline was damaged due to flooding, which knocked out service to 22 customers.

Vanessa Hamilton Executive Vice President for Eastern Natural Gas tells 21 News that debris from a four wheeler bridge upstream from the pipeline struck the pipeline causing the break.

Service has currently been restored to two customers, leaving 20 without power.

Eastern Natural Gas tells us the remainder of affected residents should have their heat restored by the end of the day.
