AP: Ohio Redistricting Commission approves new legislative State House, Senate redistricting maps
Republican members of the Commission released a new plan Thursday night giving them a 54-45 Ohio House majority and an 18-15 Ohio Senate majority by GOP calculations.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The Ohio Redistricting Commission has approved new legislative State House and Senate redistricting maps with hopes that they can pass constitutional muster at Ohio's high court.
Republican members of the Commission released a new plan Thursday night giving them a 54-45 Ohio House majority and an 18-15 Ohio Senate majority by GOP calculations.
While this plan comes the closest to matching Ohio's political breakdown compared to any GOP-drawn map, State Democrats disagreed with the calculations.
Two previous GOP plans were invalidated as "gerrymandered." Contempt proceedings remain scheduled for Tuesday, March 1.
