WARREN, Ohio - Investigators are trying to find out who firebombed a Warren home as a family of six slept inside.

Police were sent to the house on the 100 block of Belmont Street where a smoke detector was going off just after 2 a.m. Wednesday.

A woman and her five children were in a car where they had escaped to safety.

Police found a Molotov cocktail that had been thrown through the living room window and rolled into the kitchen.

Other than burn marks on the curtains, living room carpet, and kitchen floor, the firebomb caused little damage.

The woman told officers the firebomb came through the window just above the couch where her 11-year-old child was sleeping. She said she had been sleeping in another room and four other children were in upstairs bedrooms.

According to police, the woman said she had no idea who would have done this, or why.
