COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio - An area doctor is facing charges after allegedly planning to meet a prostitute.

According to investigators, 64-year-old Daniel Garritano, a doctor with an office in Canfield, responded to an ad on social media for sex.

The meeting ended up being with law enforcement officials with the Mahoning County Human Trafficking Task Force.

Garritano was arrested by East Palestine Police Tuesday.

Another man, 59-year-old Jeffrey Hartung of Newton Falls, was also arrested in Columbiana County.

Both men face charges of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools and pleaded not guilty in Columbiana County Municipal Court Thursday.

Garritano and Hartung are scheduled to appear in court again for a pretrial on May 5.
