BOARDMAN TWP., Ohio - The former chef who was accused of hiding a camera in the restroom of a Boardman restaurant has been convicted on a reduced charge.

Jacob Moyers, 31 of Austintown, appeared in county court in Boardman on Thursday and entered a “no contest” plea to a charge of attempted voyeurism.

The judge found Moyers guilty and fined him $500 and placed him on probation for a year. A 90-day jail sentence was suspended, but Moyer must serve six days at the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office Day Reporting program.

Moyers was arrested and originally charged with voyeurism after a camera was found in the women's employee restroom at Magic Tree Pub and Eatery in Boardman in December 2021.

Moyer was a chef at the restaurant at the time of the incident but has since been fired.
