Police say 14-year-old girl drugged, raped; Sebring couple indicted

SMITH TOWNSHIP, Mahoning Co., Ohio - A Sebring area couple has been named in a ten-count indictment alleging that a 14-year-old girl was drugged and raped.
The Mahoning County Violent Crimes Task Force arrested 35-year-old Michael Vanhorn on Friday.
Vanhorn and his 31-year-old wife Kara were indicted by a county grand jury on Thursday.
According to Smith Township Police, Michael Vanhorn gave the girl wine, marijuana, and Xanax before allegedly raping her.
Police say the couple frequently allowed juveniles to drink alcohol and smoke pot at their home in the Tecumseh Village Mobile Home Park.
Michael Vanhorn is charged with rape and three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
Kara Vanhorn is charged with endangering children.
Both face charges of corrupting another with drugs, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and failing to comply with the law prohibiting underage alcohol consumption.
As of Friday morning, Micheal Vanhorn remained in the county jail awaiting a court appearance.
