Here in the Valley, everybody was Irish at the 44th annual Saint Patrick's Day Parade.
 
WFMJ which sponsored the event gives you a curbside seat to the parade that typically draws up to 30,000 people. 
 
Irish heritage rooted deep in the valley was on display in Boardman at the parade.
 
Theresa Semchee who grew up in the valley but was born in Ireland.  She was with her daughter, son in law and three of her grandchildren.
 
The parade was on cancelled for two years due to COVID-19.  People this year were excited it's back.
 
"We missed it while it wasn't going on but I've been coming since it was downtown. ... Since I was a little kid I always went to the parade, had to!" Semchee said.
People had fun dressing up in green.
 
One of man's best friends a dog in the parade shook off it's shamrock head band.
 
Scrappy the Scrappers mascot who was wearing green danced in the street.
 
"Now We're back, ready to get some candy,"  Lacie Dodge said. Five year old Jay agreed.
 
Some friendly faces were passing out candy including WFMJ's Sydney Canty, anchors Madison Tromler, Lindsay McCoy, and Erin Simonek as they had fun  meeting people along the parade route.
 
People enjoyed the talents of marching bands and the school spirit by Boardman Little Spartans Football and Cheer was on display.
along with the spirit of several school districts. 
 
Other favorites include police cars and sirens, along with the fire trucks with one containing Sparky the Fire Dog, and Sheriff's Deputies who also took part in the parade.
Parents tell us keeping their children bundled up could be challenging with the Saint Patty's day tradition of cold weather in our valley continuing this year. 
 
"Definitely nice to see everything back up and running. As far as bundling up that's always a challenge with this one, but nothing's going to stop us from coming out," Joe Leason said.
