Man charged with juvenile sex crimes after police raid Smith Twp. home

SMITH TOWNSHIP, Mahoning Co., Ohio - A man is in police custody and faces Pandering Sexually Oriented Matter involving a juvenile charges after his Smith Township home was raided Monday morning.
Matthew Bartchy, 27, was searched by Smith Township Police and the Mahoning County Sheriff's Office inside his Ellett Road home when the departments executed a search warrant around 8 a.m. Reports show that the departments had been investigating Bartchy for several months before they arrested him.
The material obtained by investigators was enough to hand Bartchy 10 counts of Pandering Sexually Oriented Matter involving a juvenile, all of which are second-degree felonies. He was also charged with one count of a fifth-degree felony for Importuning and a charge of disseminating material harmful to a juvenile.
Police say more charges against Bartchy are pending.
Smith Township officers said that their investigation into Bartchy resulted from an online complaint from several months ago.
Bartchy will reportedly appear in a Mahoning County courtroom on Thursday.
