Heritage Manor unveils expansion, new private rooms

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Youngstown Area Jewish Federation unveiled the newest addition to its senior living offerings Monday afternoon.
An event was held to celebrate the new Schwebel Family Foundation Wing at the Heritage Manor and Rehabilitation & Retirement Community.
The expansion adds 12 private rooms to Heritage Manor, each with its own bathroom, nurses' station and a family dining area.
Community donations were used to create the new rooms. The Executive Director of Senior Services at Heritage Manor says the pandemic made the healthcare community realize the need for private living settings.
Eric Murray told 21 News that single resident rooms became a necessity during the coronavirus pandemic to help stop the spread.
He said hospitals made the move to single resident rooms years ago and nursing homes are doing the same.
